Our farmers are the lifeblood of our community, and strengthening small and mid-sized farming operations will be one of Nancy’s top priorities in the State House. Nancy is particularly passionate about reducing the barriers faced by beginning farmers through increased investment in loans and other forms of aid. She’ll also pursue additional funding for agricultural research and education to cultivate a new generation of farmers. Finally, she will encourage local school districts to source their produce locally, opening a new market for local farmers while ensuring students across our state have access to fresh, nutritious food.
For too long, our agricultural policy has prioritized the interests of large, corporate agriculture operations while leaving small and mid-sized farms behind. It’s time to give our family farms a boost -- and that’s exactly what Nancy intends to do.
